We have finally reached the actual date: January 24, fifty years since the death of Sir Winston Churchill (1965) and 120 years since the death of his father, Lord Randolph Churchill (1895). A curious coincidence, which would have appealed to the son.

  1. Churchill was a very great man who achieved a great deal to achieve nothing at all. It would have been better had we made peace after the Battle of Britain or never have gone to war in 1939. http://pvewood.blogspot.ro/2013/11/was-winston-churchill-great-man.html#more

  3. That is a valid and not terribly eccentric point of view. I suspect war would have happened at some point but it might have been better for Britain if it had been later.
