The irony is, former citizens of East Germany look back at the certainties of the past in a phenomenon known as "Ostalgia".
Or so the Western media tells us. You don't hear it much from East Germans unless words are put into their mouths. Naturally, they are not happy with economic situation but, when asked, they do not say they would like to be back in the Socialist Camp. However, the left-wing journalists (and there are few of any other kind) prefer to think that the collapse of the Wall was a tragedy.
